My Story

Making bog oak jewellery
Jewellery maker and sculptor Trish Rogers at work at her home studio near Lough Neagh

Born and raised in Belfast, I spent the first part of my career working for the Northern (Danske) Bank, where I stayed for 17 years before leaving due to ill health.
A very busy mother to my two boys, I decided to launch my own business sculpting bog oak and spalted beech after they left home. Indeed, it was one of my sons who suggested in 2017 that I make jewellery from these woods.
So, with the encouragement and support of my kids and partner’ I launched Trish Rogers Originals and now create bespoke jewellery and sculptures from ancient Irish wood.
All of my products are original pieces and are handcrafted in my home studio near Lough Neagh, where I moved three years ago. Having gone through a divorce and spent some time living in a small mobile home, I finally built my dream home – a spacious log cabin set in two acres of land, surrounded by my horses, dogs and cats.
Where I live also inspires my work, with my bog oak hand-selected from the bog nearby and the spalted beech also sourced locally in Belfast.

My new range of slate ware for the home is made from reclaimed slate in keeping with my passion of being  kind to the environment by using something that would otherwise have ended in landfill.
